Being petty about sports jerseys

Who doesn’t love a good jersey?

And when I say a good jersey, I don’t mean the fake jerseys you buy on eBay for $20.

I take issue with people who choose to cheap out when getting a jersey. Sure they can be expensive, but save the money and put it towards one that doesn’t look like garbage.

Any sports fan with any knowledge about jerseys can point out a fake one within seconds of seeing them and there are some bad ones out there.

But people continue to buy them even though they stick out like a bad haircut.

The stitching is always off, the number and lettering look completely different, the material is noticeable worse, and the colour is usually off.

But when you go to a game, you always see hundreds of these terrible fakes, do these people have no self-respect?

It’s just as bad as people who wear hockey jerseys to a baseball game or wear a Montreal Canadiens jersey to a Leafs and Flyers game but that’s another topic for another day.

I’m sure the casual fan doesn’t care but as a “jersey guy” it bugs me every time.

If you don’t want to spend $200 on the real thing, then buy a shirt with the name and number on the back also known as a shirsey.

You can get your favorite team and your favorite player, but instead of a long sleeve jersey, you get a shirt, for a casual fan there shouldn’t be that much of a difference as you still look apart of the team.

It’s also a way better option that looks legit and it will only run you for $30 or $40.

There are now dozens of sites who sell legit jerseys for decent prices so finding one for you shouldn’t be different, sure it will be more expensive but it’s the real deal so you have to expect to pay for quality.

If you’re thinking of going down the fake route, don’t.

Just save yourself from the embarrassment, plus you’ll save 20 bucks that you were going to spend on a jersey that looks like it was made by people who have never seen jersey’s before.
