Family Centre’s Halloween Boo Bash

Mason Wafer bounces a ball at the Boo Bash held at the Exhibition Pavilion Oct. 29.

The Exhibition Pavilion was full of superheroes, princesses, and monsters of all sizes participating in the second annual Boo Bash.

The free Halloween event was organized by Family Centre’s parent advisory committee and provided games and activities for children.

This was the second year the event was held, last year it was hosted at Family Centre in the Lethbridge Centre and saw over 600 people attend.

Organizers realized its popularity and knew that this year they would need a bigger place to host the Halloween event.

“It’s an opportunity for families with young children have a good time at Halloween.”

“A few people with a lot of energy and good ideas to make this event happen.” said Family Centre Executive Director Peter Imhof.

Family Centre is a non-profit organizations providing services to children, youth and families in Lethbridge and surrounding area.

The mission for Family Centre is to work to strengthen capacities and encourage the best possible development of families in Southwestern Alberta.

It is a community based organization providing parent education, early childhood literacy and learning also family support and services.

The Boo Bash was made possible to be free by everything provided being donated by sponsors from the community of Lethbridge.

“I think it’s great because there’s a lot of people that can’t afford to do a lot of stuff.”

“So they can come to an event like this with their children, dress up more than once, it’s inside in case it’s cold and it’s free.” said chairman of the Parent Advisory Committee Dawn Thomas.

The next upcoming event for Family Centre is Santa Photos which will be held at the Centre Village Mall in December until Christmas.
