Candidate Kas MacMillan along with family members and Green supporters took to the Coalhurst Legion on Monday night to watch the election poll results.

Monday’s results were disappointing for the party, which had ambitions to win at least a handful of ridings across the country.

“I’m not too pleased with the Green Party results, the NDP and the Green Party both didn’t have a good night, that’s for sure,” said MacMillan.

“It’s almost bitter sweet, but I’m definitely happy that Stephen Harper lost,” he continued.

Though he was no pleased with his party turnout, MacMillan is happy with his local campaign.

“I’m really happy with my campaign, regardless of what happens I’m happy with my team and campaign. I think we did a stellar job regardless of the votes,” he concluded.

The Liberals won with 184 seats in the House of Commons. The Conservatives trailed by 99, the NDP 44 and the Green Party was elected 1 seat. For more information visit electionscanada.ca
