Parties don’t typically play host to werewolves and vampires but Halloween is the one time of year monsters come out from hiding and get their monster mash on.

On Oct. 29, the Lethbridge College Students’ Association will be hosting their annual Halloween Howl in the Cave.

The Halloween Howl is a free Halloween party for students and faculty at Lethbridge College that offers prizes for party goers who dress in the best costumes.

LCSA events and communication coordinator Tanner Marcer says, this is a meaningful event for students at this time of year.

“All students like dressing up and going out this time of year so it offers them a party here on campus and students on campus who plan on drinking can get home safely,” he added.

Halloween Howl has seen a consistent turnout for the last six years and Marcer expects there to be 180 to 200 people once again.

With the party taking place a few days before Halloween and the large buzz surrounding the event, Damian Nagasaka says it’s the perfect place to test drive his Halloween costume.

“I might head down and take a look, I’d like to try out my Jughead costume before going out on Halloween night,” Nagasaka said.

Prizes will be given away for best dressed costumes individually, as a group and for funniest costume with the prizes ranging from Calgary Flames tickets to gift cards.
