Synthetic Marijuana may be legal but it can cause some devastating side effects. The drug, which can be purchased at local paraphernalia stores, is made up of chemical compounds that replicate marijuana. It is difficult for officials to make the drug illegal because the chemicals can easily be changed. The National Institute on Drug Abuse says chemical compounds can change from batch to batch resulting in unpredictable side effects. A few reported side effects include seizures, panic attacks and in some cases death.
