Thousands of Lethbridge College students use it every day, but why is Canvas used as a Learning Management System?
Lorne Deimert the Canvas Administrator here at Lethbridge College explained that one of the deciding factors between choosing Canvas and other LMS’ was its dependability.
“The main reason why we picked Canvas was its ease of use and its reliability,” said Deimert.
He also went on to explain that Canvases frequent updates were a really big positive for him as well.
“They constantly have updates, like every three weeks they update so they are always improving it and adding new features to it,” he added.
Donna Cox, Administrative Assistant for the Educational Enhancement Team explained the aspect of Canvas that most people tend to enjoy is how reliable it is.

“There are a couple of little tools that Angel had that Canvas doesn’t, but for the most part people are very happy with it. It’s really efficient with very little downtime with no crashing,” said Cox.
Canvas was implemented in the 2014-15 school year and replaced Angel, the learning management system that Lethbridge College had used before.
