Struggling with staying healthy?

When it comes to living a healthy lifestyle it can be tough to figure out which trend is the right one for you. Finding one that can be done every day is making sure you eat healthy and saying ‘no’ to some of the tempting deep fried foods.

We all enjoy eating out every now and then and treating ourselves on those guilty pleasures. These pleasures are unique to everyone and can be grabbing a bucket of fried chicken or diving into a pail of ice cream.

It can seem like a lot of hard work and staying on top of yourself to make sure you make good choices and know that they are the right ones.

One of the easiest ways can be subbing out fries for a salad when you order a meal. It may not be the most entertaining choice, but you’ll thank yourself when you don’t feel like you’ve added five pounds after your meal.

Most of us talk about how we have the famous ‘food baby’ after a big meal and it’s essentially game over for us to do any other activity in the day. We all love lazing around the couch after a big meal, but it doesn’t help in order stay fit and not add on those unwanted pounds.

That can lead to another way to make sure you live a healthy lifestyle, is making sure you are conscious of your portion sizes. There are times where we take too much food and eat it because it’s in front of us and you feel guilty wasting food.

I’m not here to lecture you like your mother would when you wouldn’t eat your vegetables at the dinner table. It’s just a slight reminder and maybe that voice in the back of your head to keep on your New Year’s resolution to eat healthier. That is if you made it this far.

I am certainly no saint either as I can’t wait till the next wing night or sharing a plate of nachos with friends. Although I will do my best throughout the year to make the best choices possible so I don’t break 200 pounds, so don’t hesitate to give me a funny look next time I’m indulging in something deliciously greasy.
