Lethbridge city council was sworn in Monday without one of its newest members.
Bob Babki was pronounced dead in his Lethbridge home.
Babki’s wife, Bonnie, told the media she believes the cause of death was a heart attack. He has had four heart attacks in previous years.
Bonnie told the media that Bob was looking forward to getting on with council business.
Babki’s campaign was focused on lower taxes and better spending practices.
The city is expected to announce a byelection on Nov. 15 to take place in January.
They will also be announcing that night, when candidates have to have their applications in.
