An opportunity for growth

The culinary department may be setting up a food cart on campus in the future with produce grown in the facility. For Kodiak News, I’m Sarah Redekop

The Lethbridge College aquaponics facility and the culinary department are teaming up with four local restaurants. The aquaponics facility is providing these restaurants with weekly totes of produce. Currently the culinary department is working with the restaurants to determine an exchange for the produce. Culinary Chair, Doug Overes, says although dollar figures haven’t been determined, it appears as though they will provide scholarships for culinary students.
