Art sale and showcase in Buchanan Library

You may notice the walls of Buchanan Library in the college getting a little more colourful as the holidays approach.

That’s because students in Art 150 and Art 160 classes are displaying and selling their work up until Dec. 10.

Instructors Jonathon Legg and Tasha Diamant have encouraged students to showcase their multi-media, charcoal, paint and pencil pieces with all art sales going to the Students’ Association Food bank.

Although not all the work is for sale, they are still worth stopping by to see. Upon entering the library you will see such pieces as “Boundless”, a canvas painting by Kerri McDougall or “Man Needs a Maid”, a multi-media painting complete with pieces of a record player.

Towards the back of the library, you’ll find mixed media, paintings, watercolour, fineliner and pencil drawings all ranging from $1- $5.

Just think, with a nifty little frame, these pieces could be just the Christmas gift you’ve been searching for.
