Assessments to determine fitness levels

Healthy individuals between the ages of 18 and 69 are wanted for physical assessments.

The second year exercise science students are offering free 90 minute evaluations to individuals who fit into this age group.

The assessments will include a pre-screening with blood pressure and heart rate being taken and questions about your health and past and present physical activity; a body composition covering height, weight, waist girth and skinfolds; a cardio respiratory assessment with a bike or step test; a musculoskeletal assessment involving push ups, curl ups and flexibility; and a results interpretation and fitness counselling session by the student (within two weeks of appraisal).

Every assessment session will also be supervised with a Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology certified exercise physiologist or a certified personal trainer.

The exercise science students are offering these assessments so that participants can benefit by finding their fitness level. Also so the students can learn from the practical experience.

The assessments are being offered Nov. 12, Nov. 16, Nov. 19, and Dec. 3 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
They will be held in the physical education building, room 2409.
