Bridges of Hope sends nurses to Haiti

Eight months after the earthquake that hit Haiti and shook the rest of the world, Bridges of Hope in Lethbridge is sending out a medical relief team to continue relief efforts.

Ten nurses and one physician will head into Jacmel from Sept. 14 – Sept 24, where they will be set up mobile clinics and distribute $20,000 of medicine provided by HPI Canada.  The team plans to enter communities and orphanages to provide food, supplies and medical support.

Leading the team is LPN Tina Wiebe, international health program co-ordinator for Bridges of Hope, who has been involved in international missions in Burkino Faso, Africa and Haiti.

The relief team will be working with Lifeline Haiti, a non-profit organization founded out of Lethbridge, which partners with Bridges of Hope. For more information visit the Lifeline Haiti blog, http://lifelinehaiti.blogspot.com.
