New security camera registry

The lethbridge regional police have implemented a new tool that will help catch suspects in the act. Security Camera Registry is a new investigative tool that helps assist in solving thefts, cole smith has all the details. 

Regional police unveiled a new security camera registry program for businesses and home owners this week.  The cameras will help investigators identify suspects in the event of a crime being committed. Constable Kara Hagen says how some crimes have been already solved by the cameras. 

The first Business to Help unveil and take part in the new program was Pit Stop liquor on 6th ave south. Once the camera is registered, The home owner or business will receive an LRPS security camera sticker to place on their windows. 

Police say the security camera program is valuable to homeowners as well. Those interested in signing up for the new program can easily do so by visiting the lethbridgepolice.ca website.
