Members of the college community hit the pavement in honour of Livestrong Day on Sept. 30.
Approximately 20 people donned yellow and took part in either a walk, run or bike ride to show their support for those battling cancer.
Participants met at the front doors of the college at noon, where they were given Livestrong bracelets and had the opportunity to win some Livestrong apparel donated by the college.
Event organizer Jeff Hamilton says the college has participated in Livestrong Day for the last four years. He adds the goal of the college’s Livestrong Day is not to raise funds.
“Its purpose is to celebrate the spirit of those fighting the disease,” said Hamilton.
Livestrong Day was established in 2004 by Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong who knows firsthand the difficulty of battling cancer.
There are more than 1,000 Livestrong Day events held in 65 countries each year. Its goal is to improve the lives of people who are affected by cancer.
The college’s celebration was one of the two Livestrong Day events held throughout the city.
