Column: 10 All-time best dance music videos

I’m a huge fan of musicals and a sucker for spontaneous choreographed dance sequences. But since I know that won’t happen in real life, I’m stuck to watching music videos of killer dance moves. So this week it’s the Top 10 Music Videos with the Best Choreographed Group Dances.

10. MC Hammer-U can’t touch this. Whenever this song is heard, whether it be a wedding reception or a bar, it is hilarious watching people pretend like they know what they’re doing. They swear they could have been one of MC Hammer’s back-up dancers. Fortunately it’s harder than it looks. I say fortunately because it becomes a whole new source of comedic entertainment.

9.Shawn Desman- Lets go. If you’ve read ahead, you’ll notice that this is not the only Shawn Desman song on the list. What can I say? The guy can dance!

8.Lady Gaga-Bad Romance. I wish there was a way for me to explain a Lady Gaga video but I really can’t. But the dancing is good, a little different, but good nonetheless!

7. Beyonce-All the single ladies. I enjoyed the simplicity of this video. It’s black and white, with few special effects and transitions. It’s a new but simple way to appreciate dancing.

6. Shawn Desman-Night like this. This video is a little bit like High School Musical, but better. Typical school dance where no one is dancing. How do you break the ice? Choreographed dancing in a dance circle of course!

5.Britney Spears-Baby One More Time. Of course, this list would not be complete without a Britney Spears song. It’s not hard to tell by the dancing and the costumes that this was definitely made in the ‘90s.

4. Chris Brown-Yeah. Dancing in unison with other people is a lot harder than it looks. You all need to be on the same count and know exactly what to do at the exact precise moment. Well not only is this fully accomplished in this video but they through in countless flips and stunts. It’s pretty cool definitely check this one out.

3. Ok Go-Here it goes again. Choreographed dancing is one thing. But choreographed dancing and tricks on treadmills is nothing but pure talent. I love this video. I wonder how many takes it took them to get this perfect in one take. Amazing!

2. Michael Jackson-Thriller. The King of Pop had to have a placement on this list somewhere. And of course it would be this song. The only issue is having the patience to watch the whole video until the actual dancing sequence begins which is at eight minutes and 30 seconds.

1. LMFAO-Party Rock Anthem. This is more than likely the most popular song of 2011, hands down. Not that I’m complaining, it’s a good song and the video is amazing. Creating a new type of dancing these days is almost unheard of, but LMFAO seemed to pull it off really well.
