The Cave hosted the Lethbridge College Students’ Association (LCSA) Cowboy Cabaret last Thursday.
The event combined a silent auction, the proceeds of which went to supporting men’s health programs including Prostate Cancer Canada and a live country band. Hurtin’ provided the musical entertainment.
Tanner Marcer, events and communication coordinator, said the turnout wasn’t what was expected.
“The turnout was relatively low, a possible result of exams and projects before the big finals push,” he said.
Though the turnout wasn’t all that great, a prize was given out for the best moustache which Lethbridge College student Kyle Kast spent all month growing. His prizes included a shave at Tommy Guns as well as gift cards to both Backstreet Pub and Campus Recreation.
A second prize was given out to Brandon Gabruck, who was the top contributor through the LCSA Movember team.
Even though the event wasn’t as popular as originally hoped, it didn’t stop the LCSA from raising a substantial $1,030 through the silent auction fundraiser.
