Cross-country brings home fourth at nationals

The Kodiaks men’s cross-country team brought home a fourth-place overall finish at nationals in Kamloops, B.C.

Both men and women’s team members came home from the Nov. 11 and 12 event with personal or seasonal best times.

Lethbridge College all-star Peter Kalya finished third overall with a time of 25:52, an impressive result and his personal best.

Other Lethbridge College finishes were Conrad Chesire in 27th with a time of 28:06, Dennis Ronoh in 28th with a time of 28:08, and Jon Koegler in 34th with a time of 28:26.

A member of the women’s team also placed in the top 10.

The women’s best finish was Gladys Kochel in 10th place with a time of 19:16, just one second behind eighth and ninth place.  Kochel also received a silver medal as a member of the Alberta provincial team.

Another finish for the women’s team was Purity Kandie who finished 17th with a time of 20:04.
