End of Watch Review

End of Watch
By: Eric Granson

End of Watch is a roller coaster drama, of a realistic view of police officers and their average day against gang intimidation and high-speed pursuits. This near two-hour movie will have you experience a range of emotions, so prepare to hold on tight.

End of Watch keeps you locked into your seat and keeps the viewer engaged in the riveting story, and shows the stressful lives of the officers and their families. With strong performances from Jake Gyllenhaal, Michael Peña and Anna Kendrick, you couldn’t help but feel empathy with the characters. These two brothers at arms really make you enjoy the entire journey while rooting for them against the cartels.

Although the movie is very strong in both story and acting, it lacks direction. End of Watch seems to be slapped together, although entertaining; it comes across sloppy not to mention an odd ending. In the end, this movie will make you think twice before judging that local police officer for stopping for coffee and a doughnut 4/5 stars
