Game Seth Match: Teams the Blue Jays Fans Could Cheer For

The Teams Toronto Blue Jays Should Cheer For in The Playoffs

It was another season Toronto Blue Jays fans will want to forget. The team finished fourth-place in the American League East with a 73-89 record.

Without the Jays in the playoffs, the faithful fans of Toronto will have to decide which team to cheer for. Here are five teams from best to worst the Jays fans could cheer for:

  1. Cleveland Indians

Cleveland Indians have two of the best players the Blue Jays have ever had, Josh Donaldson and Edwin Encarnacion.

Both players made an impact on the team  and was one of the reasons the Blue Jays made the playoffs.

Whether it was Encarnacion smacking a home run and circling the bases with his “parrot” or Donaldson making an outstanding barehanded grab, these two players deserve some credit for what they did for the team.

  1. Milwaukee Brewers

This is another team scattered with former Blue Jays players, Curtis Granderson, Eric Thames, Erik Kratz and Jeremy Jeffress.

Even though these players didn’t make a huge impact on the team, they could have made a personal impact on some fans.

Curtis Granderson was only with the team for three-quarters of a season but was a great veteran for the young guys and did his job as a leadoff batter which is get on base.

But the player to look out for is MVP candidate Christian Yelich.

He leads the offence with power and speed.

Every team wants a guy who can run and smack home runs.

That’s the dream package of a baseball player.

Combine this offence with a stellar bullpen, the Brewers have a great chance at winning the World Series.

  1. Colorado Rockies

The Colorado Rockies are one of the hottest teams, winning nine of its 10 last regular season games.

On top of that, the Rockies went through the Chicago Cubs in the National League wild card to secure a playoff game against the Milwaukee Brewers.

The offence is led by another MVP candidate, Nolan Arenado, who is just a stellar all-around player who can hit home runs and snag some balls at the hot corner.

But the Rockies can’t go into its next playoff game too confident as the team was one of the hottest teams going into the 2007 World Series game and lost.

  1. Atlanta Braves

The Atlanta Braves are filled with former Bluejays management,

Alex Anthopoulous, former Toronto GM and now Braves GM,  former hitting coach, Kevin Seitzer and athletic trainer George Poulis are all working for the Braves now.

But Jays fan’s shouldn’t just cheer for the Braves because of the former Jays administration.

The Braves only won the National League East due to young stars, Ronald Acuna Jr. and Ozzie Albies.

Backing up the young talent is veteran and Canadian Freddie Freeman who helped the team have the second-best average in the National League.

  1. Boston Red Sox

Even though the Boston Red Sox are rivals of the Blue Jays, playing in the same division, they are still a good team to root for as they have a chance of winning the World Series.

But you can’t deny the Red Sox have talent with players like Mookie Betts, Xander Bogaerts and J.D Martinez.

These players are just the ones who can swing the bat and play good defensively.

If you want to get into the pitching side of the Red Sox’s talent, it would include David Price and Chris Sale who are one of the best in the MLB.

On top of this, the Red Sox are playing the Yankees and there isn’t a team the Blue Jays hate more than the Yankees.

Go ahead root for who you want or don’t cheer because as a Blue Jays fan you don’t need to choose a team to cheer for.

If you are a true loyal fan you will just forget about baseball and wait until next season to cheer on those Jays who hopefully will make a run for the World Series.
