5000 dollars and various other golf and electronic prizes were given away during the Gord Laurie foundations second annual poker tournament Tuesday at Casino Lethbridge.
The $5,000 went to the top three players including $2,500 to the winner of the tournament Norm Elgaard.
“WOW!!!!! $2,500 for the win that really really nice, now I just have to figure out what to spend it on,” said Norm Elgaard.
The final table of 10 players were guaranteed prizes like golf accessories and free rounds, luggage, tablets and a 40 inch TV going to the fourth place finisher.
“It would have been nice to finish in the prizes, but it’s for charity so I don’t mind losing this one,” said Mike Thompson.
The Gord Laurie foundation was founded in 2012 to help enhance our community life, build partnerships and foster growth. They have helped various organizations in Lethbridge and the surrounding area with founding.
Big Brothers Big Sister, the Boys and Girls Club, Humane Society, Interfaith Food Bank and Lethbridge College Scholarships are just a few organizations they have helped.
