Greatness in Leadership seminar welcomes the Great One

The Lethbridge Greatness in Leadership Seminar was a huge success for local professionals of all ages.  The educational session kicked off Tuesday, Oct. 7 at the Enmax Centre and brought enlightening speakers from a variety of backgrounds to discuss new methods of leadership and how to improve these skills within a work environment.

Key speakers included an executive panel that housed successful Alberta professionals Bob Nicholson, Daryl Ritchie, and Carolyn Richardson Hursh.  They talked as a group about past experiences in business and gave advice and suggestions to seminar goers regarding the theme of leadership and success within the Alberta market place.

Event organizer Lisa Lambert was very happy with the spectacular turn out and effectiveness the seminar brought to Lethbridge. Lambert says, “We aren’t a huge city but we are a first class city.  The objective with the seminar was not only to educate the business professionals, but also to show young professionals and students that Lethbridge is a great place to live, work and play and that they don’t always have to look to bigger centers.”

The event also opened its doors to motivating speakers such as Gabrielle Scrimshaw and Doug Lipp who discussed subjects like overcoming obstacles, attracting and retaining young professionals and leadership and corporate culture.  Doug Lipp whom has worked with Disney and is the author of Disney U says when talking about brand culture “There really is no magic, it’s about doing the ordinary in an amazing fashion every single day.”

All speakers brought great insight that help educated and open the minds of students to business leaders from across country and focused its messages towards the building of our young professionals in the workforce. 

The day was also joined by the heavily anticipated visit of hockey legend Wayne Gretzky.  Gretzky was joined by Edmonton Oilers executive Bob Nicholson who chatted for an hour about hockey, the components of a good team and they reminisced about Gretzky’s old days with the Oilers. 

The event was a great opportunity for people to learn from keen professionals as well as network with other business professionals.
