With a 6-2 win over the Regina Pats, the Hurricanes were fired up during the Feb. 9 game in Lethbridge.
Brody Sutter scored the first goal in the first period following Neil Tarnasky with the second assisted by Alex Kuvaev and Ryon Moser.
During the second period the Regina Pats bounced back when Tanner Olstad scored their first goal of the evening.
Hurricanes’ Michael Sofillas did not allow that lead to last long when he scored the third goal assisted by Graham Hood and Philip Tot.
The third period left the Pats no hope as the Hurricanes got three goals from Philip Tot, Mitch Maxwell and Cam Braes. The Pats managed to squeeze in one more goal scored by Mark Schneider.
The Feb. 11 game against the Prince George Cougars didn’t go as the Hurricanes had hoped.
Cougars’ Nick Buonassisi scored the opening goal of the evening assisted by Troy Bourke and Martin Marincin.
The Hurricanes tied the game when Cam Braes scored their first goal.
Cougars’ Brett Connolly upped the score by two finishing off the first period 3-1.
Hurricanes’ Jacob Berglund managed to score a goal in the second period but the Cougars did not lighten up.
James Dobrowolski and Charles Inglis scored another two for the Cougars.
The Hurricanes were not happy in the third period when Cougars’ Charles Inglis and Taylor Stefishen scored the last two goals of the game leaving the final score 7-2 for the Cougars.
There was no luck for the Hurricanes during Feb. 12 game against the Red Deer Rebels. No goals were scored until the third period. The Rebels wiped them clean, winning 3-0.
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored the first goal assisted by Byron Froese and Alex Petrovic.Second was scored by Byron Froese, assisted by Brett Ferguson and Aaron Borejko.
The final goal was scored by Andrej Kudrna and assisted by Turner Elson and Brad Deagle.
The Hurricanes will play their next home game on Feb. 19 against Edmonton.
