The Lethbridge Hurricanes won all three of their games that took place on Nov. 28, 29 and Dec. 3.
The Hurricanes won their game on Saturday, against the Saskatoon Blades 6-3.
It was evident from the beginning of the game that Hurricanes goalie Damien Kelto was in the zone. Kelto was able to stop 52 out of the 55 shots on net.
A pass from ‘Canes player Reid Duke to Sam McKechnie gave the Hurricanes its first goal of the game.
Just 1:25 into the second period forward Nick Buonassisi got the second goal.
Josh Nicholls and Dalton Thrower of the Blades were able to tie the game but Russ Maxwell pulled the Canes back into the lead 26 seconds later.
The Hurricanes fourth and fifth goals were scored early in the third period.
Cam Braes, team captain, was able to seal the final score with a goal on an empty net.
The hurricanes won their game on the 29th against the Medicine Hat Tigers 4-3.
While the Tigers played with speed this game, the Hurricanes attacked the puck well and had good gap control in the neutral zone.
“Medicine Hat is very fast, very talented. For us to win we have to shut these guys down,” said Nick Buonassisi, Hurricanes forward.
Kelto had some good saves, especially against wrap around plays around the net.
James Bettauer of the Tigers was the first player of the game to score.
The Tigers ended the first period in the lead with a score of 1-0. A lot of shots were made by both teams.
During the beginning of the second period the Tigers were able to come deep into the Hurricanes zone.
Jayden Hart was able to tip the puck into the net for the Tigers second goal.
The Tigers had strong passing, and good mobility and finesse around the ‘Canes net.
Buonassisi scored the Hurricanes first goal of the game.
Hurricanes player Jamal Watson scores two minutes later to tie the game. Then McKechnie scored off a rebound for the Hurricanes third goal.
Halfway through the game the Hurricanes picked up their defence.
Not even a minute into the third period Braes scored for the ‘Canes.
Kelto injured his left shoulder stopping a puck. He was down for a couple of minutes but continued to play in net.
The Hurricanes did a good job of driving the net during the third period, especially forward Jaimen Yakubowski.
On Tuesday, Nov. 28 the Hurricanes were missing some players due to injuries and the flu.
In order to win 3-1 in the game against the Red Deer Rebels the Hurricanes had to play a physical game.
Colton Mayor of the Rebels scored halfway through the first period. Braes then scored to tie the game.
The next goal for the Hurricanes came from Brody Sutter, who was fed the puck by Graham Hood.
The penalties the ‘Canes received during the third period gave the Rebels the opportunity to tie the game but Sutter scored another goal; a shorthanded goal on an empty net.
