Juggling a Successful College Life

Some students who are new to college may have some trouble adjusting.

It can be difficult to balance a healthy social life while having good marks. Sleeping without staying up late and studying for good marks is just as difficult.

Here are some helpful tips to help you thrive during your first year at the college.

First of all, don’t keep all your studying for the night before. I know that it’s been said to death, but there is an important reason for that.

If you stay up all night studying for an exam, you will be exhausted for any other classes that you have the next day.

It’s a lot easier, and quite a bit less stressful, to remember 20 minutes of reading spread over a week then it is to cram a whole notebook of information in a single night.

Same with homework. If you get it done as soon as you can, then you have the rest of the week to do whatever you feel like.

It’s a way better feeling when you are out with your friends to know that you can go straight to bed when you get home instead of spending the next few hours on a last minute assignment.

When you go out with your friends during the week, prepare for the next morning. If you know that your wing Wednesday will be going past midnight, make sure you have some coffee so that you can be aware during class.

You don’t want to be the one student that everyone else is pointing and laughing at because you fell asleep during your lecture.

Last but not least, if you are caught up with homework and studying, you can hang out with your friends whenever they invite you to.

I hope these tips help you have an enjoyable first year at the college. Just remember that college should be a fun experience and that there is really nothing to stress about, except maybe running out of caffeine.
