What the heck is going on with our justice system right now?
It was recently made very public that Terri-Lynne McClintic was moved last December from a maximum security womens prison in Ontario to an Aboriginal healing lodge in Saskatchewan.
Do you know who McClintic is? Let me refresh your memory.
This woman lured an 8-year-old girl named Tori Stafford to a car after school in 2009. She promised the girl she would get to see a puppy.
Tori took her hand and followed her into a purple Honda Civic. McClintic’s boyfriend at the time was in the car.
Long, terrible, sad story short, Tori Stafford was raped, and then brutally murdered.
McClintic said herself, in trial, “I savagely murdered that little girl.”
She was in the maximum-security prison until December 2017 when it was decided that she’s doing well enough to be transferred to the minimum security healing lodge.
From what I understand, this is basically an apartment complex. There’s a kitchen, a living room, kids can live there.
So can a child killer, apparently.
What about Matthew DeGrood? Who went to a house party in Calgary in 2014 and stabbed 5 people and killed them?
He didn’t even go to prison. He went to a hospital.
He’s now being considered as a candidate to get privileges. Going to the mall, going to various courses, he’ll be allowed to leave the facility for about 4 hours at a time.
He feels really bad though, so that’s fine. He should be given these freedoms, right?
No. This is insane. Murderers shouldn’t get freedoms and privileges. They should be put in maximum security prisons and left there.
Come on.
