Kodiaks’ 12-point weekend push them into playoff contention

The Lethbridge College Kodiaks’ men’s and women’s soccer teams are in the thick of a playoff race right now. A 12-point weekend for the Kodiaks saw both teams win each of the two games on their schedule. Coach Sean Carey says the playoff outlook is a little brighter after this weekend.

“These are big, important games for us in the season. We’re right in that playoff hunt and these six points today gives both teams a big leap on the teams ahead of them in the tables and puts us in third place now in both divisions, so that’s awesome.”

The Kodiaks’ men had a big 6–1 win against Ambrose Lions on Saturday and a close 2–1 victory on Sunday against the rival Medicine Hat Rattlers. The women had a 3–1 victory against the Lions and 4–0 clean sheet against the Rattlers. The Kodiaks are back in action next Saturday as they take on the Ambrose Lions in Calgary.
