Kodiaks indoor soccer season begins

The Kodiaks indoor soccer teams had some ups and downs at their Nov. 30 games.

The women Kodiaks played Finnigans in a tightly played encounter that saw two evenly matched teams.

Stephanie Penny scored was able to net the Kodiaks’ lone goal the first half to tie the game.

With tight defence and attention to detail the Kodiaks were able to keep the opposing team from scoring, which kept the game at a 1-1 tie.

The men’s season has gotten off to an interesting start.

The men started the season not knowing if they had enough players to make a team, causing their star goalie to go to Team America, along with other players departing to other teams.

The men have won just a single game so far in their indoor season.

The men played Team America losing in decisive fashion 10-2.

With no goalie, the men’s star player Cole Runge was forced to start in net.

Runge was replaced in the second half, by Matt Thompson, after allowing several goals.

Kyle Smith-Windsor and Cole Runge scored the two goals for the Kodiaks.

The Kodiaks play every Wednesday night at the soccer centre.
