Kodiaks run their way to the top

The Kodiak cross country track team won 14 medals at the Athletic Alberta combined provincials.

 

For the men, Willy Kimosop won gold in the 1,500m and 3,000m, Ed Kangogo got gold in the 800m and silver in the 1,500m.

Peter Kayla received silver in the 800m and bronze in the 1,500, while Moses Kipgoskei got a bronze in 3,000.  Cobie Soop and Jordan Do both finished just out of medal range with Soop getting forth in 800 and fifth in the 400, while Do had an eighth place finish in both races.

For the women, Purity Kandie came out on top in the 800m and second in the 400, while Gladys Kochei won silver in the 1,500 and bronze in the 3,000. Winnie Cheptogok took a silver in the 800m and Florence Kangogo took fourth in the 3,000m, while receiving a gold for the 4X800 relay.

The men and women each won the 4X800m relay as well in the Combined Championships.

The Kodiaks placed top overall for ACAC teams in the championship and repeated their accomplishments of the ACAC cross country Championships of last fall.
