Kodiaks women’s basketball team push for playoffs

The Kodiak women’s basketball team is putting faith in rookies to help its playoff push.

The team currently fills the final south division playoff spot with 18 points.

The team has only one fourth-year player in Karli McLachlan, the rest being first or second-year players. Head coach Deanna Simpson says even though the team is young ,she was impressed with the effort put in this season.

The team has one of the youngest teams in the league with a total of nine first-year players on the roster.
