As the final games of the regular season are set to take place this weekend, the Lethbridge College Kodiaks women’s soccer team is hoping for a little bit of help. Heading into play this weekend, the Kodiaks trail the Red Deer Queens by one point for the final playoff spot.
The Queens have two games this weekend while the Kodiaks have just one. The Kodiaks host the 6-2-1 Medicine Hat Rattlers on Saturday while the Queens entertain the 1-7-0 SAIT Trojans on Saturday and the 8-0-0 Mount Royal Cougars on Sunday.
The Kodiaks are second in the South Division in goal scoring and are coming off back-to-back solid outings beating the Lakeland Rustlers 6-0 and tying Red Deer 0-0.
In order for the Kodiaks to make the playoffs they would need a win on Saturday against Medicine Hat and a couple Red Deer losses. Any draw and loss by Red Deer coupled with a Kodiaks win would also propel them into the playoffs.
The Kodiaks game takes place at noon at Servus Sports Centre Field on Saturday.
With a record of 2-5-1 the Kodiaks men’s soccer team played to a 2-2 draw last weekend vs. Lakeland and will play their final game of the season on Saturday at 2 p.m. vs. Medicine Hat at Servus Sports Centre Field.
