LCSA fights hunger

The Lethbridge College Students’ Association has started up its Food bank for the new semester and the donations are piling up.

Students can access the Food bank once a month and it runs all year.

If you are taking classes, you are eligible to access the Food bank,” explained LCSA Administrative Assistant Angela Fretts.

The Food bank usually supports 6 to ten families of various sizes every month and is only available to college students.

Students just come in a pick up an application form,” said Fretts.

She explained how the service is for emergencies and how the application process requires details about the student’s income.

The LCSA Food bank has been running since 1994 and donations can be made by dropping off non-perishable items in the box outside the LCSA’s main office. Volunteers interested in participating in food drives can receive more information by contacting the Students’ Association.
