Lethbridge abundant in soccer possibilities

Lethbridge provides a great opportunity for those interested in soccer.

The Lethbridge Soccer Association, which is run by board members, has both senior men’s and senior women’s leagues.

“The senior women’s and senior men’s leagues provide an opportunity for adults to continue the love of the game,” says Tina Olson, administrative assistant for the association at Servus Sports Centre.

The women’s league consists of three different tiers, which range in quality of play. The men’s team only has two options, tier one and over-35.

To play on the teams you must be over 18 and anyone younger must have parental consent.

Although these teams are very competitive, there are no tryouts and you get to choose the tier level you want to play in.

“The leagues promote a healthy lifestyle for men and women at any stage in life and at any level of fitness,” said Olson.

Teams within the association play other Lethbridge teams. However, any team wishing to play at provincials in April must register.

Another option is to play with the Southern Oldtimers Football Association. SOFA has both a mixed team and an over-30 team.

Both associations started their seasons in October and end them in April.
