Lethbridge College Campus Coffee Contest

Lethbridge College and Cuppers Coffee and Tea have teamed up to create a college themed coffee blend.

According to Lethbridge College’s website, the two paired up during the summer months to create a unique blend to suit the school’s students and faculty.

“The college came to us about six months ago looking for a different coffee distributer,” said Nancy Kearns, a Cuppers employee that helped create the mystery blend.

A contest on naming the newly blended beans is also in place in the college’s cafeteria and on Instagram. Paper copies are being taken in the cafeteria and a voting poll has been posted on Instagram for all finalist names.

The final decision will be made by the college’s naming selection committee which will be made up of members of Lethbridge College and Cuppers.

The top eight names have already been chosen for the coffee. The decision was made based on originality, creativity and the names relevance to the college.

“All those late-night papers, I think it’s definitely an asset. I also think a lot of people are excited to have a different option,” said Ashley Usher, an accounting student attending Lethbridge College.

The winner of the contest will win a gift basket and free coffee on campus for the entire academic year.
The approximate value of the prize is $500.

The winner will be named this Saturday at Lethbridge College’s own Coulee Fest on Sept. 15.
