Starting on Nov. 18, students and staff have been donating articles of winter clothing such as gloves and other outerwear to keep those in need warm.
The collection will end on Dec. 14, where the clothes will be given to the college daycare, Lethbridge College’s international community who may be experiencing their first winter and Wood’s Homes. The designated areas are the athletics office, equipment room, Lethbridge College Students’ Association office and the bookstore.
In Lethbridge, one in six people are classified as low income and experience the effect of poverty in their day-to-day lives, according to the city of Lethbridge’s poverty reduction strategy.
