This week falls as a busy one for most students at Lethbridge College. As summer slipped away and back to school came crawling back, a lot of students have been getting back into old routines.
Many faculty members have been prepping towards this day for weeks in advance. Cheri Reitzel, an instructor for the Interior Design Technology program says that she starts prepping for the semester three weeks in advance.
“There usually is a lot of research into what other schools are doing with their courses, so that we are on par.”
She explains that as she takes it one week at a time. By the first of day of class, she has all lesson plans and calendars complete.
According to the Lethbridge College website, the college has welcomed 2,000 new students, bringing the total number of students registered in credit and apprenticeship classes to 4,700.
“We have continued to grow since our inception, but I can’t tell you that this has been our highest year of enrolment,” says Gwen Wirth a communications specialist at Lethbridge College.
Cheri Reiztel sends a little piece of advice to new and returning students saying to always attend and ask questions and concerns from instructors before you give up.
“Try not to rely to much on your teachers, just use them as an asset with your course and make your life what you want it to be.”
