Lethbridge College men’s futsal team prepares to host ACAC Futsal Championships

A local collegiate futsal team is looking to make a run at a championship banner.

The Lethbridge College Kodiaks men’s futsal team is looking to improve drastically on its second last place finish at last year’s ACAC championships.

Head Coach, Sean Carey, says practicing on the court the team will play on at the ACACs will help the men prepare for the championships.

“Moving forward now most sessions will be on gym B which will give us the feel and get used to the floor because it’s a little different then the other places we have played at.”

The championships will take place on March 15 to 17 in the Val Matteotti Gymnasium at the college.

Hi, I’m Seth Slomp, I live on a beef and dairy farm not too far from Lethbridge in Picture Butte. It’s a family farm that stretches 1,500 acres where my uncles, my dad, my brother and two hired hands all work. Growing up I was never interested in agriculture, my love was for sports, specifically volleyball and soccer. I also played basketball, badminton and threw discus in high school. Currently, I attend Lethbridge College where I am a second-year student-athlete in the Digital Communications and Media program. When I'm not in school I also play for the Lethbridge College Kodiaks men’s soccer team.
