Attendance at the Lethbridge Entertainment Expo last weekend was way up from last year’s event.
Bobby Hoff, the owner of Showcase Comics, says comic book interest, particularly for women, has risen in recent years. Hoff says when Showcase Comics opened 10 years ago, about 5 per cent of his customers were women and now, it’s almost 40 per cent.
He attributes this to the rise in good storytelling in comic books, as Marvel, DC, and many independent artists have begun hiring professional writers.
