Lethbridge local and SiriusXM host has grown his brand into a national discussion and information hub in the agriculture world.

Shaun Haney, founder of RealAgriculture.com, created his brand as a way to share news and information about all things agriculture utilizing modern technologies and formats.

Despite RealAgriculture’s head office being in Lethbridge, Haney works with farmers and ranchers from across Canada to ensure RealAgriculture’s audio, video and blogpost style content is not only relevant to southern Alberta but in touch with the discussions farmers are having from coast to coast.

Haney says these modern delivery styles and his genuine team are what makes RealAgriculture’s content so appealing to farmers and ranchers.

“Our content team has a really strong connection to agriculture…  which allowed us to write and talk about things farmers were actually dealing with because we were having the same conversations at our supper table. We’ve always done that with a bit of flare. The way we do things is attractive to our audience.”

Haney started the brand in 2008 when he was writing for a farm publication but felt inspired to go out on his own.

“I bought the URL RealAgroculture.com on GoDaddy and the rest is history.”

Since then, Haney and RealAgriculture has grown and expanded to create content on and for YouTube, Twitter and SiriusXM.

RealAg Radio is currently Canada’s only daily national agricultural radio program.

The program features topics including current events, agronomy, farm management and more.

Haney says being on SiriusXM has allowed his brand to reach a new group of people from all across Canada and the United States.

“A lot of farmers have SiriusXM because they’re so remote, so it gives you a lot of different options.”

Haney says this expansion has been a huge opportunity to talk about Canadian Agriculture.

“We really provide an opportunity to showcase Canadian agriculture not only to farmers and ranchers inside this country but outside as well.”

RealAgriculture is always working on exciting ways to present their information.

One of the main ways their topics are shared internationally is on YouTube.

Their YouTube page is home to educational content about growing crops and their hour long live show The Agronomist, where they discuss all things farming from technology to management.

The Agronomist can be streamed on the RealAgriculture YouTube channel on Monday nights.

RealAg Radio is available for listening on SiriusXM channel 147 Rural Radio.
