Lethbridge skateboarders help out Haiti

Lethbridge’s skateboard community is doing its part to help the victims of the devastating earthquake in Haiti last month.

Christian Nelson, a member of the Lethbridge Skateboard Association, has been at the Boarderline mini-ramp for the last four weeks filming for a project he hopes will help those affected by the earthquake.

“I had the idea to do a video based solely around the Boarderline ramp for a winter project. This came about the same time the earthquakes hit,” Nelson said.

“So I figured why not get on it and do what we can to make some cash to help the cause?”

The video will feature local skateboarders including Alex Masse, Brent Eftoda and Joseph Mckay.

This is the second time the LSA has come out to help the community this winter, after their successful “Fill the Van” food drive in December.

The video will premiere on March 4, at the Blarney Stone as a part of Boarderline’s Shred Night.

The video will be sold for a minimum donation. There will also be a YouTube edition with a PayPal link. All proceeds are going to the Red Cross Haiti relief fund.
