If everyone took an entire day to stop and appreciate the little things in life, I bet most of us would be pretty amazed at what we came across.
It doesn’t have to be the big things in life that stop us in our tracks. It could be little things such as smiling at a stranger, taking in beautiful scenery, enjoying a warm cup of coffee on a cold day, or even having a loved one kiss your forehead.
Have you ever met someone that was always upset with life because it didn’t hand them miracles? Only if they really opened up their eyes they would see that every day is a miracle in itself.
Some people can make the best out of everything they have, while others just have the best of everything but usually something is missing.
Why do others go through life doing things that never stimulate their minds, or excite them? They keep going through the same mundane routine without any question of where their life is headed, because it’s comfortable for them.
It almost feels like you’re robbing yourself of all the great things life has to offer you by closing yourself up into a bubble.
In today’s modern society, everyone is sucked into whatever technology they possess, whether it’s their cellphone, computer, TV, or gaming system. It seems people have a hard time shutting down the external noise and listening to the internal one.
To be able to pay attention to the little things in life, we must truly be open with our mind, body and soul.
With that I leave you this to ponder – we do have the ability to change our way of thinking if we just open our eyes to all of the possibilities.
“All the powers in the universe are already ours. It is we who have put our hands before our eyes and cry that it is dark.” – Swami Vivekananda
