A Lethbridge teen is working hard to break down beauty pageant stereotypes. Seventeen-year-old Samantha Mackenzie finished second runner up in the Miss Teen Alberta Pageant in Calgary last week. Mackenzie says modern day beauty pageants are about much more than traditional beauty. The Chinook High senior will travel to Toronto this summer to compete against winners from around the country in a national pageant. As a finalist, she has also been named Miss Teen Lethbridge, a title she’ll hold until March 2019.
