Fresh meat on wheels

Roller derby is a fast-paced sport that is growing in popularity in Lethbridge. For those who want give it a try, Fresh Meat nights are a great way to practice skating skills and learn from the Deathbridge Derby Dames.

Held Fridays at 7 p.m. in the Henderson Ice Centre arena, you only need to complete a waiver and bring your Alberta Health Card and your $5 skate fee.

The first Friday of every month is new intake month, which means a helmet, skates and protective pads will be provided and can be rented out for future practices with a $50 deposit.

The Deathbridge Derby Dames are gearing up for their Home Bout Tournament at the Exhibition April 5 from noon- 9 p.m.  They will have six 30-minute games with the main event starting at 7 p.m.
