For fans in the Val Matteotti Gym the only thing that could justify leaving the house on a frigid Saturday night would be a Kodiaks win, and that’s exactly what the men’s volleyball team provided.
The men were able to succeed their match against Mount Royal with three straight wins of 25-22, 25-12 and 25-21.
Kodiaks Jeff Marthaller and Glen Lengyel continue their impressive season, currently sitting in third and sixth spot in the conference respectively in average kills per game. The Kodiaks sit in a tie for eighth place with a record of 3-5.
As for the women’s team, it was a tough outing for the Kodiaks as they dropped three straight games to the conference-leading Mount Royal Cougars 25-15, 25-17, 25-15.
One positive piece for the Kodiaks remains the play of Nicole Hawkins who sits sixth in the league in digs averaging 3.4 per game.
The Kodiak women sit in 10th spot in the conference with a record of 3-5.
The Kodiaks next home game is on Nov. 26 as the teams play host to Augustana with the action starting at 6 p.m.
