Musical fundraiser brings in the big bucks

On Nov. 8 Southminster United Church was a packed house as people were sitting in the aisles. More than 850 people who brought tickets for the Lethbridge Pregnancy Care Centre fundraiser enjoyed an acoustic concert performed by Canadian Country Music Award winner George Canyon.

The two-hour event helped raise over $13,000. Proceeds go towards the centre to continue the support for women, men and families dealing with pregnancy issues and unplanned pregnancies.

“We would definitely do this kind of event again,” says Executive Director Monica Moedt. “It feels really good to have such a variety of people come to this event and get to know who we are.”

The Centre is looking to have more fundraising events after the result of the positive recent turnout.
