New plumbing program offered to local apprentices

After more than 50 years, plumbers are able to seek training a little more closer to home. Lethbridge has not had a training facility for plumbers in a long time.

Jeremy Bridge, an instructor for the apprenticeship program, says its a good opportunity for plumbers to take full advantage of.

“Before now, apprentices in Lethbridge had to go to other municipalities like Calgary or Medicine Hat to seek training,” Bridge says.

The program offers eight weeks of formal training followed by 10 months of on the job experience. After completing the 10 months students will return to the college for additional training.

The program is four years long, for Kodiak News I’m Tawnya Plain Eagle.
