This weekend kicks off the beginning of an annual program dedicated to fighting impaired driving.
Lethbridge is one of three cities in the province that provides a unique service during the holidays called Operation Red Nose. For the last 20 years this program has been helping people get safely home with their cars parked outside.
Operation Red Nose Relies on the help of volunteers. With every call made a team of three answers. One to drive your car, one to navigate and one who follows in a different car to take the volunteers back.
Last year 1,200 rides were given in 12 nights, says coordinator Eoin Colquhoun.
Operation Red Nose is available every weekend from now until New Years from 9:30 pm- 3am.
Call 403-320-4155 to use this service. Have a safe and happy holiday.
