Policy pardon?

Uncertainty and confusion was high among parents at Lethbridge School District No. 51 last night, Sarah Redekop reports.

A policy draft for School District No. 51 has raised concern for some local parents in regards to the new Alberta government recommendations for sexual equality and gender identity. The first policy review took place last night and many parents were unaware a new policy was in the making. Concerns were raised over issues regarding same-gender washrooms and changerooms. District Superintendant, Dr. Cheryl Gilmore, says parents need to voice concerns with their school councils. The final policy will be put into place March 31st.
