Terry Vogt, news director at CTV Lethbridge, Const. Richard Huculiak, Sherri Gallant, reporter with the Lethbridge Herald and Bram Timmer, graphic designer, were chosen by the college’s Office of Alumni Relations for the Awards.
Vogt (radio arts 1972) was given the top award for his 38 years in the broadcast industry and his commitment to southern Alberta and its residents. He is involved in many aspects in the community of Lethbridge including a community outreach program, volunteering at the Lethbridge Soup Kitchen and works with the Ecumenical Campus Ministry for LC and the U of L.
Huculiak (law enforcement 1979) was given the Community Leader award. Throughout his career in the RCMP, Const. Huculiak constantly made time for youth in order to provide them with a quality role model so that criminal behaviour could be reduced.
Gallant (communication arts 1986) was honoured with the Career Virtuoso award. Her ability to write well-balanced articles has helped to educate thousands of people on a variety of topics.
Timmer (multimedia production 2003) was the recipient of the Rising Star award. Along with being a graphic designer, Timmer has also worked as an art director and photographer and has seen his work take him around the world.
The Distinguished Alumni awards will be handed out in an event held at the DA Electric Barn. Tickets will be made available in the new year.
