Renovated Canada Food Guide introduces radical changes

The Government of Canada updated Canada’s food guide this week, bringing with it some radical changes.

Among some of the biggest changes was suggesting that Canadians get their protein from plant-based sources rather than meat.

Chef Doug Overes of the School of Culinary Arts at Lethbridge College says those changes are necessary.

Overes added the beef industry will face major challenges from the government in the next five years.
