We all know the drill when school rolls around. The weather gets colder, our sweaters get puffier and for some reason, we use this as an excuse to eat and slack off on our exercising.
Here are some great tips to keep in you in shape through those blistering cold months:
Clean your house. This is a great way to burn those calories and at the same time get something accomplished.
Do blow dryer squats. Believe it or not I do these every morning; if you’re a girl and you want great legs, why not flip your hair upside down and do a couple reps on each leg. Doing this on a regular basis is bound to keep your legs in shape for when summer finally does roll back around.
Do free weights with your groceries. Who needs the help of a bag boy? You are fully capable of taking your own groceries to your car. It keeps the bag boy from coming outside in the cold weather, and gives your arms a quick workout.
Go for a walk. It’s simple and fun; grab your roommate and get out there. Just remember to bundle up!
Try doing sit-ups between TV commercials. This one can be quite daunting, but when it’s cold outside and all you want to do is lay on the couch and watch TV, keep in mind that all those calories from McDonalds that you ate earlier aren’t going to lose themselves.
Toboggan. You’re never too old to go sledding with your friends, and as we all know, the hike back up the hill can really get that heart rate up.
Don’t forget that the gym is always there too, waiting and hoping you will stop by and make a visit.
Hopefully these quick tips will help you stay in the best shape possible over the holidays. Always remember to indulge and treat your body right.
